Israel Heller has over 20 years of experience recording and performing across all styles and genres on the violin in Los Angeles, New York, the San Francisco Bay Area, Cleveland, and Berlin. His foundation is classical and studied with teachers Michael Ferril, Robert Lipsett, and David Updegraff at California State University, Northridge (CSUN), Encore School for Strings, and the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM) respectively. He has also had extensive left-hand and bow technique studies with noted virtuoso Ruggiero Ricci. Israel continues to work on songwriting and composition with producer and music director Mark Vogel, with whom he also studies voice. Performance highlights include the first live solo show of Israel’s career at famed music club Nighttown in Cleveland Heights, Ohio in 2007, performing with The Mowgli's at the Bowery Ballroom and Brooklyn Bowl in New York, backing up an artist opening for Kendrick Lamar when he was crowned King of the West Coast at The Music Box (now The Fonda) in Hollywood, playing at Carnegie Hall as a member of the American Youth Symphony, his first experimental electronic music set at Madame Claude in Berlin, Germany in 2013, one of his solo shows at The Rockwood Music Hall in New York in 2016, and an open mic performance at one of his favorite venues ever in 2019: the Hotel Utah in San Francisco.
