Sasha Berliner is an award winning multi instrumentalist, composer, and teacher with a BFA in Jazz Performance from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. She has performed with musicians such as Nicholas Payton, Tyshawn Sorey, Warren Wolf, and Quincy Davis, in addition to her own group on an international level. Her debut record “Azalea” has been widely acclaimed by the NYC Winter Jazz Fest, TIDAL, and The New York Times. She has been an experienced clinician and private educator for more than 8 years, and is based out of both NYC and Los Angeles.
COACHING MAY INCLUDE:
Comprehensive study of jazz based language, technique, improvisation, and exercises through the vibraphone (most prominently), and piano
Building compositional skills, including developing motifs and advanced harmony as it relates to fundamental human emotion
Ear based learning for internalizing and learning songs, rhythmic templates including odd and compound meters, song forms, and more on all instruments
