Musician Empowerment: How Musicians Can Manifest Their Goals in The New Year
Tips: Successful Tools for Reaching Your Goals
The New Year is in full swing, and that often means new projects and goals for many people. Sometimes it can be difficult reaching new goals we have in the New Year, especially when we have a lot going in our lives. Having some tips to help manifest your goals can help you reach them in the New Year.
Establishing Your Goals
Most people can think of a few goals they’d like to accomplish in the New Year. For me, that includes having a solid practice schedule and building healthier lifestyle habits.
According to a survey by Finder “12.23% of of all Americans with resolutions don’t believe that meeting their resolution is within reach.”
As someone who has had their fair share of doubt when following through with goals, I can understand why many people feel this way. Reaching the goals we set can feel out of reach and so far away from where we are at first. Manifesting your goals isn’t always easy, and it can feel overwhelming at times.
It’s important to think about what goals would make you happier to achieve in the New Year so you can start to plan them. These tips are great ways to help you start following through and reaching your goals in the coming months.
1.Set Reasonable Goals
We all have different things that come to mind when we start to think of goals to set for ourselves. No matter what you want to accomplish, be sure it’s an attainable goal.
There are short term and long term goals. Short term goals are goals that you can complete in a short amount of time such as completing a project by the end of the week. Long term goals are goals that take a lot more time and planning behind such as moving into a new house by the end of the year.
You want to make sure you are creating goals that you are passionate about. Having an emotional connection to your goals will help in motivating you to follow through with them. You want to set goals that you can create a clear vision for in your mind.
There should also be some sense of importance with your goals, and feeling the need to accomplish your goals will help you want to reach them. While you do want your goals to be attainable, don’t be afraid to push the boundary and step outside your comfort zone.
2.Be Grateful, Kind, and Positive
Being positive can really go a long way in improving one’s day. When it comes to reaching your goals, this can change your whole mindset and make you feel better about being able to reach your goals
Positivity is something that not only increases your positive energy, paying it forward for someone else can put a smile on their face and make their day a little brighter too.
Something you can do to have more gratitude is writing down a few things you're grateful for each day. No matter what inspired you, keeping track of your gratitude can help you stay positive.
One of the hardest things is being kind to ourselves. Remember that we are our own worst critic and we are all special and unique in our own ways.
Being kind to yourself can help you in reaching your goals because you won’t be as hard on yourself if you don’t reach them when you’d like. You know you can always start over and try again.
3.Have a Plan
Along with creating a list of goals it’s important to have a plan to reach them. Whether you create an ideal timeline or small goals for each week, having some kind of plan can help you stay on track to reaching your goals.
It can be helpful to have smaller goal marks because you won’t be as overwhelmed by the big picture goals. Setting small things to accomplish each day will help you break down your goals into chunks that are more achievable.
You want to try and take small steps every day because this will create habits and steps in the right direction towards your goals. Everyday goals don’t have to be big; they are stepping stones to your end goals.
Taking the time to create a plan will help you organize your thoughts, have a timeline for milestone goals, and keep you motivated to stay on task towards your goals. Accomplishing small goals each day will help you be one step closer to reaching your long term goals.
4.Reflect
Reflection can be one of the best tools for success when it comes to manifesting your goals. I’ve done a lot of reflection this past year myself, and I feel like it’s helped a lot in knowing what went well and what could go better the next time around.
Observing your patterns is a great way to better understand yourself, your tendencies, and how you can better achieve your goals this year. Reflection often uncovers things about you or your work that you didn’t realize was there.
When you reflect you are simply observing. It’s helpful to first start with the positive and joyful moments you’ve had. These can inspire you and help you have a healthier mindset to be more successful at reaching your goals.
It’s also important to look at the moments that didn’t go as well. These are teachable moments because “figuring out what you want less of in the New Year can help you reach success by subtraction,” according to an article by Forbes.
Achieving The Goals You Set
Reaching your goals for the New Year can feel like an impossible task and you might not know where to start or how to keep your momentum going when it comes to following through with your goals. However, don’t let stress or self doubt stop you from reaching your goals.
Having some helpful tips to manifest your goals can help you reach the goals you aspire to achieve. Remember that taking small steps each day will help you move forward in reaching your goals. It’s also okay if you don’t meet your goals, it’s important that you try and you know that your ability to reach your goals doesn’t change your self worth.
