According to a 2020 report by Giving USA, “American individuals, bequests, foundations and corporations gave an estimated $449.64 billion to U.S. charities in 2019, placing it among the highest years ever for charitable giving.” Many people in communities can find themselves struggling to get by, especially given the last year or so we’ve had. As musicians, it’s important to be mindful of the struggles and privileges that exist within our community and strive to be generous members of our creative workforce.
